In a surprise move the federal government announced yesterday they were putting a stop to the solar rebate which has seen many Australians sign up for renewable energy in their home. The eight hours notice that the scheme was ending has seen the opposition, Greens, industry and consumers scratching their heads, especially since legislation for the replacement scheme has not even been introduced to the parliament yet.
