ACF challenge Federal Government over Adani water pipeline

The Adani corporation has announced it’s ready to begin work on its planned coal mine in Queensland, but it wants access to almost 12.5 billion liters from the surrounding region to use in the mine.

Under federal law, coal mining projects must undergo environmental assessment if they are likely to have a significant impact on water resources. But the Federal Government decided the water trigger did not apply to the Adani mine.

Now the ACF is challenging that decision in court.
