All of Australia has now undertaken an official commitment to reconciliation, after Tasmania yesterday became the last Australian state to create an indigenous council in affiliation with Reconciliation Australia.

Rodney Dillon, of the Tasmanian Regional Aboriginal Communities Alliance, says measures to address disadvantage have been “stagnant” for the eight years that the state was without a council.
