Last night saw the public release of the charges against terrorist suspect David Hicks however his Australian lawyer and his father say they add nothing to the case against him. Former Prime Minister and human rights activist Malcolm Fraser today criticised the Australian Government’s handling of the case and highlighted the depth of human rights breaches in Australia. Speaking at a human rights conference in Melbourne today, Mr Fraser and Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission President, John von Doussa brought focus on the lack of human rights awareness and education in Australia.
