Good Governance has been top of the agenda –in a seminar looking at the possible gains for Aboriginal communities that work together. With up to 70 small scale Indigenous Community local governments across the Northern Territory, Dr Will Sanders says communities would function better in spite if any staff changes if they band together – but there are benefits in the old way of doing things too. Dr Sanders is a Research Fellow at the ANU Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research. He says the Thamarrur regional grouping in the Territory is widely noted for moving forward in recent years.
