The South Australian government is reportedly looking at a proposition to harvest wild kangaroo meat in line with traditional practices, for use by indigenous groups near Port Augusta. Roo industry PhD Researcher at Adelaide University, Dana Thomsen says early indications of support for the unique venture are promising. Her wider research into the commercial roo industry has gathered input from various Aboriginal groups as well as pastoralists.
