The Federal Governments latest internet filtering proposal is under fire from net activists and I.T. experts. The government says the system is designed to filter extreme material like child pornography, but critics say other websites may be restricted by the plan. Now it’s been revealed by an ISP engineer that there will be a second website black list, that even adult users will not be able to opt out of. This means that all Australian internet users will be denied access to some parts of the net. Colin Jacobs from the lobby group, Electronic Frontiers Australia says the government should re-think the entire proposal.
