Federal budget may disadvantage women with low incomes

Next week is Federal budget week, and Treasure Josh Frydenberg has already announced a package to support the child care sector.

While it is good news, advocates like the Australian Council of Social Services say it is not enough, and the organisation would like to see services funded to support women with low incomes included in the budget.

Before COVID-19, older women were the fastest growing group of people receiving unemployment payments, and are more vulnerable to mental health issues and homelessness.
