Several key issues including refugee policy and climate change will most likely dominate the next four weeks of the election campaign. But one other issue may have a crucial role in several inner city electorates – that of same sex marriage. So how do you uphold an anti-gay-marriage policy in electorates that have the countries largest gay populations? It’s a tricky task, but Sydney MP’s Tanya Plibersek and Anthony Albanese have to follow their party’s policy – even though their Melbourne counterpart, Cath Bowtell isn’t.
