An average peak hour in some Australian cities

A new Grattan Institute report released in early October has put a new perspective on how big a problem traffic congestion has become in Australian cities.

The report, using Google Maps to predict millions of future trip times, revealed that the time it takes to travel through the CBD of Australian capitals, Melbourne and Sydney has drastically increased, thanks to overcrowded routes through the city.

With more motorists clogging up our city streets, we must ask ourselves: what can we do to reduce our time on the road?
