Tasmanians go to the polls in the general election for the lower house this coming Saturday.

Polls show that the Liberals are ahead, with high approval ratings for both Premier Will Hodgeman and Opposition Leader Rebecca White.  A big issue has become Labor’s policy to progressively rid the state of poker machines – with all parties coming up with varying ways of addressing gambling addiction.

Tasmanians seem to be bucking the trend toward independents and smaller parties, with both the Liberals and Labor racking up good poll figures.
