There were once more than 250 languages in Australia but with the arrival of early Europeans many of these languages disappeared. But now, a new course aimed at reviving Indigenous languages is helping Indigenous Australians reconnect with their heritage.

The course, called Learning an Endangered Language, is currently focussed on the Kuarna language and is being held in Adelaide throughout April. It hopes to provide a foundation for re-learning other forgotten Indigenous languages. Phd Revival Linguists Jasmin Morley, hopes that the course will encourage more Indigenous Australians to learn their forgotten native languages.
