Julia Gillard met with the four newly powerful independents today to begin the process of negotiating a deal to form government. But it won’t only be local issues or even national issues up for discussion- the independents want to shake up our entrenched two-party political system, for good. Reforming the way parliament works is one of the top items on the independents’ wishlist.
