The Olympics are now well underway, and many Australians are up late or up early glued to the coverage. But some viewers have noticed strange things about the news bulletins on channels that aren’t the official broadcasters of the games. A tightly enforced regime of television rights is creating some quirky coverage. Closer to the action in London, restrictions are being enforced in an even stronger way. Limits on the use of the Olympic rings is creating confusion over the arrangement of sausages and flower beds.
