Overnight, the Nobel Prize-winning conservative economist Milton Freedman died aged ninety-four. Freedman was best known for his belief in the free market, deregulation and privatisation; and for giving economic advice to Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. His economic rationalist views have also been influential in Australian public policy over the past 20 years.
