Federal Labor has been out in the wilderness since 1996. State labor parties may be thriving but nationally, the party has lost four elections and the party’s vital signs are seen by many as quite dim. In a new book, “Coming to the Party-where next for Labor”, twelve Labor insiders and commentators talk about what tehy think Labor’s problems are and where the party should be heading. One of the writers is former national president of the party, Barry Jones and he speaks about how he sees Labor’s current position.
