In May 2020 Australia’s foremost Indigenous singer/songwriter Archie Roach was set to embark on his final Australian Tour. The tour would mark 30 years since the release of his aware wining debut album “Charcoal Lane”. Whilst the tour was cancelled due to Covid-19, Archie has kept himself busy with plenty of other projects.

One such project is his children’s book “Took the Children Away”, which was released on October 4th of this year. The book sets Archie’s iconic lyrics from his song of the same title to illustrations by Ruby Hunter. The aim of the book is to shed light on Australia’s shameful past practice of removing Indigenous children from their families.
