Today, 25 organisations have written a joint letter to ask Major General Justice Paul Brereton to make the Afghanistan Inquiry report available to the public, after the investigation was launched in 2016 and several media reports show it will not be public.

After 4 years of being under investigation, advocates are concerned about the secrecy of the inquiry and the allegations of breaches of international humanitarian law by Australian special forces in Afghanistan. The organisations claim Australians should know and the government should be accountable for their actions in Afghanistan.
