The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies officially turns 50 this year. This institute plays an integral role in research, documentation and storing of significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies and histories.
There are big plans for the anniversary celebration later next month, but The Wire wanted to take a look at how the services by this one-of-a-kind Institute have shaped the face of Aboriginal culture.
