The Australia Network may become a black screen after the May budget, after the government hinted it may be cut off to save money. The Australia Network is run by the ABC, and broadcasts Australian news, sport, television and education programs in the Asia Pacific region.

But experts are concerned that axing the network may have negative effects on diplomatic relations, and those living in the area agree.
