For the first time, Gen Z and Millennial voters will be outnumber Baby Boomers at the upcoming federal election.

The shift in demographics has already shaped many policies of the major and minor parties by focusing on student debts, housing affordability, and rental stresses.

However, studies earlier this year found a growing number of Year 10 students are falling below the national proficient standard for civics understanding.

Community Radio Network political reporter Noah Secomb spoke with South Australian Senator Karen Grogan about the gaps in political education for young people.
