Today’s interest rates rise is the sixth consecutive rise since the two 2004 federal election. It is also the first time the independent Reserve Bank has raised rates during an election campaign. The Wire spoke to Crikey’s Christian Kerr, to get his opinion on whether interests rates will affect election outcome. It’s said that Australians will bet on anything that moves, and this coming federal election has seen a record amount of money wagered on the outcome. Neil Evans of Centrebet gives the latest on the election betting market after the latest interest rates rise.
