The mouth of the River Murray has struggled with low flows for years. Last year things got really bad when low levels of water caused soil to become toxic. But locals at the Mouth of the River Murray were angry when dams were built to control the problem. Now, with the flood rains from up north arriving at the Lower Lakes the regulators are no longer needed. This week the bund that separated lake Albert from lake Alexandrina broke. Pia Volk asked Dianne Bell,Chair of the River, Lakes and Coorong Action Group, what it was like.
