Last year nearly a quarter of a million Australians went to homelessness services looking for help. It was a number never seen before by charities around the nation. But despite the increasing need for help, their funds are hanging in the balance. Now around 60 homeless and domestic violence services have written to Social Services Minister, Scott Morrison demanding he commit to their future. Meanwhile there’s new evidence that failing to help the homeless ends up costing us more money in the long run.
