Poo, wee, vomit, blood – for workers in the health system and aged care, dealing with a variety of bodily fluids most of us rather wouldn’t, on a daily basis. It may surprise some that most support workers receive wages similar to if they were waiting tables. We talk to the author of a new study that suggests we need to put more value on these kinds of “dirty” work, as well as a care worker who does it for the love, and certainly not the money.
