It’s Monday morning in Iran and a recount of votes in the weekend presidential election is looking more and more remote. The main contender against incumbent Mahmoud Ahmedinijad, Mir Hossein Mousavi has asked for a recount in what he says was a rigged ballot. With beatings, arrests, websites blocked and talk of a silent coup, Ahmedinijad has hailed his victory as a new era of hope. But commentators say that despite possible vote-rigging, Iranian politicians need to be more strategic.
