The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released their report urging significant and transformative change to occur if the global temperatures are to be kept below 1.5°C.

The report released in South Korea was commissioned at the 2016 Paris Climate Summit where states agreed to keeping global temperatures below 1.5°C. To meet this target global emissions would have to at zero by 2050 at the latest. The report claims that at current emission levels global temperatures would rise 3°C on pre-industrial temperatures, far beyond the Paris target.
