Every second Tuesday on The Wire, we will be taking a look at a different international institution. We’ll assess its successes, failures and plans for reform. This week we look at the United Nations, which rose out of the ashes of World War Two, with the aim of protecting the world’s citizens from the “scourge of war”. Erica Vowles spoke to Professor Daniele Archibugi, a specialist in UN reform and a visiting lecturer at the London School of Economics and President of the United Nations Association of Australia, professor Margaret Reynolds.
