UN body seeks to regain credibility on climate change

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (or IPCC) needs a structural shake up. That’s according to a review commissioned by the UN, that was conducted over 5 months. The review is in response to damaging claims that the IPCC was exaggerating the impact of climate change. In 2009 leaked emails and erroneous claims by the IPCC chairman that the Himalayan glaciers could be lost by 2035, all contributed to a loss of confidence in the UN body. But how significant were the original errors, and what kind of impact has the scandal had on the global response to climate change?
