Every day, six girls report being raped or sexually assaulted in NSW, according to the latest figures from the Bureau of Crime Statistics. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The Bureau estimates around 70 per cent of sexual assaults are not reported, and that in many cases the perpetrator is known to the victim.
