Over two and a half thousand facebook users have joined a group calling for the naming and shaming of a man accused of lighting one of the deadly Victorian bushfires. While the group’s stated aim is legal, some members have posted comments demanding the torture and death of 39-year-old Brendan Sokulak, who’s accused of starting fires in Gippsland which killed 11 people. The group has also broken court orders and could be prosecuted for releasing photos of the man and information that might lead to the release of his address. The Victorian Police have asked for the comments to be removed, but the group remains and it’s membership has grown by 400 people since this morning.
