What a difference a term in politics can make. Three years after Rudd’s Labor swept to victory, Australia has its first hung parliament since 1941. The result is so close that electorates across the country are being subject to the scrutiny of a recount. One such electorate is Grayndler, in Sydney’s inner west, where Greens candidate Sam Byrne is hoping a swing of 25% will help him upset the incumbent minister, Anthony Albanese. Joel Werner spoke to Sam Byrne about the likelihood of the Greens picking up another lower house seat.
