Yesterday a man died after being shot with a taser by the New South Wales police, news reports say, raising questions about whether tasers belong on the streets. After the incident, New South Wales Premier Barry O’Farrel said that tasers are still necessary as a non-lethal alternative to guns.

But experts and even the New South Wales police department say that tasers can’t actually work in place of guns – Farah Ahmed reports.
