Suspect multinational mining company heading for Alice Springs

A company with a history of bad environmental practice is exploring a uranium mining site near Alice Springs water supply. Canadian based multinational mining company Cameco and Australian Paledin Energy have a joint venture to explore the area, and are due to begin drilling in March. Cameco have had to close their Port Hope refinery after paying a 1.4 million dollar settlement for failing to comply with environmental standards. So how can community members of the site be sure that the situation in America isn’t set for repeat?
