The NSW Home-building Project in Waterloo has this week received criticism over its plan to construct high rise accommodations for approximately 500 students.  The development, which is to be run by private developers, will only be building social and affordable housing to around 100 homes.

Housing advocates such as Shelter NSW claim that these plans are insufficient, especially given the 51,000 applications that have now been passed on the social housing waiting list.
