Helping malnourished children and victims of conflict in the war-torn town of Abyei in Sudan, is a long way from a downtown emergency room in Canada. But looking for a change, that’s exactly where Dr James Maskalyk headed when he signed up for Médecins Sans Frontières. He’s now put his experiences into a new book, “Six Months in Sudan”, and he told The Wire some of the situations he faced while there.
