Scraping the plaque off Australia’s Dental Issues

The Federal Government today announced they’re funding a $4.1billion scheme to try and improve Australia’s dental standards across the board. An injection of $1.3billion is proposed to help boost the public health sector, and under an agreement with Medicare the oral health of children in particular is set to change.

The plans however come in place of the Government’s previous health scheme, which focused heavily on ensuring the dental health of over one million Australians suffering from chronic illnesses. So what was the reason for the change in plans, and will this affect anybody?
