Emergency service workers, academics, and local government leaders gathered in Townsville, Queensland today, to share information about how best to survive natural disasters. After Cyclone Larry crossed the tropical North Queensland Coast in 2006, the State Government has held annual Summits at the end of the cyclone season. And earlier this year, inland Queenslanders experienced severe weather conditions when up to 4,000 homes were flooded. Frank Pagano is Executive Director of Emergency Management Queensland and was involved with the relief after Cyclone Larry.
