NSW Stolen Generations welcome reparation package

Last week the NSW government announced a reparation package offering survivors of the Stolen Generations compensation for the abuse and neglect they may have suffered as a result of being forcibly removed.
The announcement is in response to the Upper House Inquiry into Reparations for the Stolen Generations and the Unfinished Business report released earlier this year.
The report outlined 35 recommendations, 30 of which will be fully implemented.
Included in these recommendations is is a one off payment of up to seventy-five thousand dollars, a funeral assistance scheme, direct funding for Stolen Generations organisations and the establishment of a healing fund.
