The federal government has refused to accept a draft proposal for a national history curriculum, instead putting in place a new committee are expected to deliver a more conservative approach to the subject. It is thought that the new approach to history could see teachers cherry pick certain subjects and ignore others such as nineteenth century indigenous history.
