More questions than answers on SievX anniversary

Ten years ago on this day the vessel now known as the Siev X sank on its way to Australia, resulting in the deaths of nearly 400 asylum seekers. There are calls for a judicial enquiry into not just that incident but three others where boats have been lost including last December’s Xmas Island tragedy which is still under investigation.

Retired diplomat and author Tony Kevin says the problem is that unlike other tragic events involving large loss of life  these maritime incidents aren’t able to be fully investigated because of security concerns.
