Life at the bottom of the income scale isn’t easy, and a study launched yesterday aims to find out just how difficult it is to live on low wages and insecure jobs. The study is a joint project between unions, welfare agency the Brotherhood of St Lawrence and universities. Annie Hastwell went along to the launch and spoke to the project leader Dr Barbara Pocock and several workers who hope it may lead to changes in their conditions.
