ITAS scrapping a blow to indigenous higher education

The Federal Government is having another go at “closing the gap”. Consolidating many previous policies and programs into just one, called The Indigenous Advancement Strategy. The government claims the new scheme will be more flexible and will foster greater engagement with Indigenous people. But a program aimed at providing higher education tutoring to indigenous students, has ended up a casualty of the overhaul.
