Insurance company mislead Aboriginal clients on funeral insurance

Last week, the Australian Federal Complaints Authority ruled out that insurance company Youpla mislead two Aboriginal policyholders on their funeral insurance, saying the company was Aboriginal-owned and controlled.
The ruling also raises the importance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to attend to community services with similar cultural significance, such as legal centres and land councils, which are ruled and operated by members of the community.
