It seems that no one can agree on the Murray River Basin Authority’s plan, farmers and irrigators want less than the proposed 2750GL of water to flow downstream and environmentalists want more. However we have not heard much from the Aboriginal community on this issue.

Neil Ward, the Director of Indigenous engagement for the Murray darling Basin Authority, has been talking to indigenous people about the plan. Meanwhile, Ngarrandjeri  elder Major Sumner has been conducting dances and talking to local aboriginal groups along the river in his own form of consultation about the state of the river.
