Today, Reconciliation Australia announced its eight finalists for the 2014 Indigenous Governance Award. This award aims to celebrate and recognise the success of Indigenous organisations around the country, including remote communities, and to break down negative stereotypes in the mainstream media about Indigenous organisations not being able to manage their own affairs. The winners will be announced at the end of October 2014.
