Adelaide Zoo like other Zoos across Australia and the world is a high profile campaigner against the use of palm oil given it’s threat to orangutan habitat. Ironically, the zoo has ditched it’s local palm oil free ice cream supplier for a multinational ice cream manufacturer which does use palm oil. Zoos SA has defended their ice cream decision saying the new supplier Streets (a subsidiary of Unilever) is in the process of phasing out palm oil.
