With the Western Australian senate re-election being called for Saturday 5th April, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC)’s Indigenous Electoral Participation Program is keen to boost numbers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voters.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voter participation is really only measurable via figures provided by initiatives such as ‘Closing The Gap’. The estimate sits at figure significantly lower than the ‘mainstream population’.
