Australia’s welfare system has been labelled “unsustainable” by Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews, and is now under review. The Disability Support Pension is one of the welfare payments being reviewed, after the government drew attention to statistics showing that more people than ever are claiming the Disability Support Pension.

They’ve also pointed out that more of those on the pension are claiming psychological, rather than physical impairments. But experts say that other statistics show a different story.
