Iconic Macquarie Marshes under threat from water theft

The Macquarie Marshes in central NSW are recognised as one of Australias most important breeding areas for water birds. A new report by the Inland Rivers Network has revealed that private landowners are stealing the water that has been set aside for the marshes, dealing another blow to an area already struggling with the ongoing drought.
